Merrymeet is a self-catering holiday cottage for up to 16 guests in the hamlet of Waterfall, near Waterhouses on the southern edge of the Peak District in Staffordshire. The converted stone barn has 7 bedrooms, 5 bath and shower rooms, a big dining room that seats everyone together, a games room and a garden with valley views.
It’s a favourite for birthdays and family get-togethers, hen parties and wedding guests celebrating at Hamps Hall and Barn, a 10-minute walk away.

Footpaths lead from the house into the Hamps and Manifold valleys, and the flat, traffic-free Manifold Track starts in nearby Waterhouses.
Walk or cycle to Thor’s Cave, cross the Dovedale stepping stones or spend a day at Alton Towers, all close by. The Red Lion Inn at Waterfall is less than half a mile away.

Hamps has no wedding licence, so couples marry at a local church or register office and hold the reception there. Merrymeet guests are a 2-minute drive or short walk from it all.
